2008 Labor Day Weekend, sponsored by FIHS
The 91st Annual Francestown Labor Day Weekend Festival
will take place from Friday, August 29th through
Monday, September 1st.
All events are sponsored by the Francestown Improvement and Historical Society (FIHS).
Charlie Pyle, Diana Place, Carol Barr, Elliot Hersey, Ray James, Irene Day, and Abby Dawson comprise
the Labor Day steering committee this year; contact them if you have questions
or need more information, or especially if you can volunteer to help out at
any of the events.
As in past years, a contest was held to solicit ideas for the theme of this
year's parade. The winning theme for this year is “Great Motion Pictures”.
All residents are invited to create floats for the parade. Floats will be judged
in the following categories:
- Most Appropriate
- Most Original
- Most Humorous
- Most Creative
- Most Effort
|
- Best on Horse
- Best on Bike
- Best Walker
- Best Commercial
- Best Vehicle
|
Ribbons are awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place. A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from amongst all entries, and will be
awarded the Grand Prize ribbon. No entry can win in more than one category.
