2006 Labor Day Weekend, sponsored by FIHS

will take place from Friday, September 1st through

All events are sponsored by the Francestown Improvement and Historical Society (FIHS).

Priscilla Martin, Charlie Pyle, and Diana Place are organizing the festivities
this year; contact them if you have questions or need more information, or
especially if you can volunteer to help out at any of the events.
As in past years, a contest was held to solicit ideas for the theme of this
year's parade. The winning theme for this year is “A Day in the
Life”, submitted by Hilary Graham of Francestown (who very kindly
donated her $50 prize to FIHS!).
All residents are invited to create floats for the parade. Floats will be judged
in the following categories:
- Most Appropriate
- Most Original
- Most Humorous
- Most Artistic
|
- Best on Horse
- Best on Bike
- Best Walker
- Best Commercial
|
Ribbons are awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place. A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from amongst all entries, and will be
awarded the Grand Prize ribbon. No entry can win in more than one category.
Although not required to participate, it would really help the organizers if you
would download this registration form,
fill it out, and mail it in.

at the top right-hand side of this page, just underneath Kathy Marx's painting
